Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan will mark his silver screen debut with the Tamil film, ‘Cobra’ starring Chiyaan Vikram and directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. The teaser of the ‘thriller’ was released on Friday. ‘Cobra’ marks Irfan Pathan’s acting debut. He will be seen in a supporting role of a French Interpol officer, Aslan Yilmnaz, in the film.

According to industry buzz, the leading actor Vikram will be seen in more than 20 looks. Irfan Pathan’s character of a French Interpol officer will be after the genius mathematician, played by Vikram.

The filmmakers originally had plans of releasing the film in May 2020 coinciding with Eid Al-Fitr but the COVID-19 pandemic spoiled them. The cast and crew were shooting in Russia in March 2020. But they were forced to stop the shoot and return home after the outbreak of the virus.

Besides Vikram and Irfan Pathan, ‘Cobra’ also stars KS Ravikumar, Mrinalini, Kanika, Padmapriya and Babu Antony. Srinidhi Shetty is the female lead in the film.
