It is no secret to the fact that out of the ‘Big Three’, Federer has the highest fan following. IBM has also backed Federer as the GOAT of tennis through Watson AI, which has analyzed infinite articles across the Internet to come up with the best arguments given by fans. It is interesting to see what IBM actually came with.

Watson worked on three aspects to arrive on the conclusion related to the GOAT debate. These aspects, namely best season, records, and game style, were the arguments raised by the fans to decide the greatest player of all time. Swiss Maestro Federer excelled in all the parameters.

Looking at the best season analysis, Federer has had arguably the best season any player would have in tennis back in 2006. The 20-time Major winner reached in the final of all the Grand Slams and won three out of them in that season. In all, Federer won as many as 12 titles that year and had an unprecedented win-loss record of 92-5.

Secondly, when it comes to records, nobody may even think of touching Federer, let alone surpass him. With the most number of Grand Slams, Federer certainly skyrockets everyone. Moreover, his accolades are not limited to this record and there are infinite of them that it’s impossible even to count them.

Last but not the least, Federer has the best game style in tennis. The Swiss Maestro’s ferocious winners from the baselines as well as deft touches at the net make him the most stylish player tennis has ever seen. Add to that, Federer’s single-handed, clean as a whistle backhand winner and the Swiss has all the ingredients of a perfect game style.

All these points of analysis prove that there is a lot of ground to be covered by Djokovic and Nadal to come into the contention of numero uno position in tennis. Currently, Federer is missing from the Tour, recuperating from the surgery on his knee. However, to the delight of tennis frenzy fans, the GOAT of the sport is aiming his return in 2021 and has made his intentions clear of playing in the Australian Open scheduled in January next year.

If that’s not great news, then only God knows what actually is!
