Upcoming star Carlos Alcaraz has attracted the attention of the world by defeating tennis legend Novak Djokovic in an incredible Wimbledon final this year. For the uninitiated, Alcaraz has been one of the most dominant players, having already won two Grand Slams at the young age of 20.

During a recent Tennis Radio Podcast, Swiss maestro Roger Federer briefly talked about how Carlos Alcaraz has achieved so much at such a young age, especially winning Wimbledon against Novak Djokovic.

The Swiss said, “Alcaraz is great. I mean, look, he’s still young & everything that he has achieved is fantastic. And not just on clay or just on hard. But also now winning Wimbledon against Novak in the final.. that is no joke. I mean he didn’t need to really prove that point but that’s another super asterisk in his CV.”

As per the majority of tennis enthusiasts out there, Carlos Alcaraz has the combined game of the Big 3, which makes him an unstoppable force among the current generation of tennis players.

Talking about the current lot of players and comparing them to the likes of the Big 4, Roger further added, “Of course, with Rafa, Novak, myself, and Murray, we all expect now every generation to produce their best tennis every single week for some reason, but it’s hard to do that. And I think Carlos, he’s done as well as he possibly could have so far.”

That’s not all; as per the former tennis professional himself, winning and losing are part of the game, and every good player does fall at a time. Talking about the recent performances of Carlos Alcaraz in the Asian leg of the Tour, the 20-time Grand Slam title champion stated, “He’s going to lose some time to time, like here in Shanghai. But he’s doing fantastic. He’s got a great game and obviously an unbelievable future ahead of him.”

The World No. 2 suffered a series of shocking defeats at the China Open and the Shanghai Masters. Carlos Alcaraz lost to Jannik Sinner in the semi-final stage of the China Open and suffered a major upset at the Shanghai Masters against American Grigor Dimitrov, who managed to win the match despite losing the first set to the Spaniard.

The Spaniard is now in a difficult position to reclaim the World No. 1 spot, which he lost to Novak during the US Open. With that being said, it seems like he is currently all set to come back stronger, perform better in the remaining tournaments of the season, and still try to finish the year at the top of the rankings.
