Alexander Zverev bageled the Spaniard in the second set, and asserted his authority right from the start. Speaking in the post-match press conference, Zverev was delighted to have earned the victory in straight sets once again.

“I am happy that I am in the third round. In general it was a good match for me, maybe Albert Ramos Vinolas did not play at his best, but I am happy with how the match went,” said Zverev.

Alexander Zverev also stated that he had two different kinds of opponents in the opening two rounds, with Albert Ramos Vinolas being a great baseliner.

“I have had two different opponents in my first and second round, with Sam Querrey being one of the best servers, and Albert being one of the best baseliners on tour, and I am happy that I have won both in straight sets,” added Zverev.

Stefanos Tsitsipas was criticized by his fellow players and Andy Murray, who were unhappy with the Greek taking unnecessary and long toilet breaks. Murray stated that he had lost all respect for the world number three, after he took several breaks during their first round encounter. Alexander Zverev also took the Briton’s side, and believes that there is should be an adjustment to the rules.

“I am not going to speak bad about anyone anymore, because it is not a great feeling. I think there needs to be some adjustment or some rules, but it just gets frustrating for you if you just win a set, and your opponent walks off for 10-plus minutes,” he added.

Stefanos Tsitsipas walked off the court again during his second round win over Adrian Mannarino. The break came after he lost the third set in the tiebreaker.

I did see that he (Tsitsipas) went off again yesterday, which you guys can imagine, how as players we might have found. And then he wins the next set 6-0, because Mannarino’s back got a little stiff or something like that,” Zverev added.
