The Russian comes into this match after beating Laura Siegmund in straight sets. This will also be her first second round appearance at Wimbledon after 2016. Alexandrova got cheap points on her serve- five aces and ensured that her serve never got broken throughout the match. She also broke her opponent multiple times to turn the match in her favour. The 32nd seed also made the quarterfinals of Berlin before Belinda Bencic downed her in three tight sets. Given her recent run on grass, Alexandrova would be keen to make the third round for the very first time at the All England Club.

On the other hand, Osorio comes into this match after having beaten Anna Kalinskaya in three sets in the opening round. She came back into the match after dropping the first set. The Colombian too has spent decent time on the grass as a result of playing the qualies at Wimbledon. Although she has a 9-5 win/loss record for the year, it is to be noted that most of her wins have come as a qualifier and in the lower-ranked tournaments. Osorio also needs to cut down on her double faults, which was high in her opening round.
