3-time grand slam champion Andy Murray is slowly and steadily rising up the ranks and gaining form. He has been consistent on the tour and is trying to play as many tournaments as possible in order to get some match practice.

Post the US Open, he played the Rennes Challenger followed by the Moselle Open where he reached the quarterfinal before losing to eventual champion and top seed Hubert Hurkacz. He then played the San Diego Open this week where he lost to second seed Casper Ruud in straight sets.

Interestingly, Murray posted a funny picture of himself on Instagram and to everyone’s surprise, he is seen in a brand new look where he’s kept a moustache.

“San Diego what a city! Maybe the best I’ve been to on tour❤️ Discovered by the Germans in 1904 would you believe!” Murray wrote on Instagram.

After the San Diego Open, Murray will now play the Indian Wells Masters which starts next week. He has received a wild card for the tournament and will look to gain some crucial points in order to move into the top 100. Murray has never won the Indian Wells Masters, his best result being a runner up finish at the 2009 edition.

Murray has stacked up his schedule for the next month and will head straight to Antwerp from Indian Wells for the European Open which starts on October 18. From Antwerp he will travel to Vienna the week after, and will play the Erste Bank Open.

Given his packed schedule, Murray could improve his rankings significantly and could very well break into the top 100 once again.
