Andy Murray
Former World No.1 Andy Murray will be seen in action on centre court at the All England Club on Monday after a gap of 4 years. Sidelined by injuries, Murray hadn’t competed in the last three Wimbledon Championships. He received a wild card this year and will face Nikoloz Basilashvili in the opening round.
Before showcasing his tennis skills on Monday, Murray flaunted his foot skills on twitter as a part of a challenge by Uber eats for the English football team. He was seen bouncing a tennis ball in his room several time before carrying it directly on his shoulders.
Murray wrote: “Hey @chris_kammy, challenge accepted! What do you think of my ball skills. Fancy winning a year of @UberEats? Post your best footy skills and goals with #BringItHome by midnight on 04.07 and Kammy will commentate and crown the winner!”
Andy Murray to play his first Wimbledon match in 4 years
Majority of the last 4 years of Murray’s career was affected the injuries. He still isn’t 100% fit, but will make an emotional return to his beloved centre court where he won two Wimbledon titles and an Olympic gold.
Before the tournament, Murray said, “I also miss being on Centre Court, things like that. I miss that. I miss the pressure of that, as well. That’s something I’m looking forward to feeling that again.”
Andy Murray also practiced with Roger Federer at the All England Club on Friday. The two shared a court after a long time and right so, enjoyed their time on court. “It was very nice sharing the court again with Andy. We were trying to think when the last time was when we shared a practice court together. I thought he looked good. To be honest, you can see how comfortable he is on the grass. Clearly, it’s just practise, we’re trying things. But I hope he can go deep here, have a nice run,” Federer said.
