Angelique Kerber and partner Franco Bianco welcome ‘Liana’ their first daughter
Three-time Grand Slam champion Kerber gives birth to her first-born daughter, Liana,
The German tennis star, Angelique Kerber, gave birth to her firstborn daughter, Liana, today. Kerber had previously announced her pregnancy last August. As a result, she missed the 2022 US Open, where she previously won the championship title in 2016. Consequently, Kerber has taken a break because of her pregnancy.
Kerber surprised the tennis world on Tuesday by announcing the birth of their first child, Liana, with partner Franco Bianco. The German also posted a celebratory picture, featuring the trio’s hands in it. Kerber shared the post on her Twitter handle. Fans congratulated Angelique on Liana’s birth and expressed their ambitions for the young Kerber.
The infant was born on February 25th, a Saturday. Kerber described the encounter as the most “wonderful and overwhelming” emotion she could have imagined. Kerber stated a few weeks ago that she was looking forward to the birth of her child. She had also done a stunning pregnancy photo shoot before the baby was born.
Kerber had cheekily announced her pregnancy via Twitter, said she was looking forward to the US Open but felt it would be unfair to play ‘two against one.’ For the 2016 US Open champion, New York holds a special place in her heart. Thus, she expressed her feelings about not being able to take part in the 2022 edition of the Grand Slam.
Angie gave birth to Liana, along with her partner Franco Bianco, who is an entrepreneur and has a net worth of $10 million. Fans positively reacted to the wonderful news. They congratulated the happy couple as well as showed their enthusiasm for Angie in particular. Some also stated that Liano will be a future tennis star.

When will Angelique Kerber return to the court?
Angelique Kerber revealed her comeback plans late last year, revealing that she was unsure about the time frame for her return. The player spoke to WTA, saying she wants to start playing again only when she is completely happy with her fitness and level of tennis. The 35-year-old is presently ranked 111th in the WTA rankings after finishing her last tournament as the world No. 19 at Wimbledon.
The three-time major champion also said, “Allow yourself plenty of time. Make use of the present”. The former World No.1 also wishes to make a comeback akin to players like Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, and Kim Clijsters, who have won titles after becoming a mother.
