In the first round of the Women’s Singles in tennis at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Australia’s Ashleigh Barty will be up against Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, with both players set to make their Olympic debuts at this year’s Olympic Games.

Barty is part of one of the largest tennis contingent that has come from Australia at any Olympics and she will be one of the leaders of the group as she is the current World No. 1 and one of the frontrunners for the Singles Gold. World No. 48 Sara also comes for the Olympics from the Wimbledon where she was defeated in the 2nd round by eventual semi-finalist Angelique Kerber. Sara also has a title this year winning the 2021 Guadalajara Open her maiden WTA title.
