Alexander Zverev has had a topsy turvy start to the year. He had big plans at the Australian Open, to win his first grand slam title and to be crowned as the world No.1 in the absence of Novak Djokovic. However, Zverev’s journey was cut short by the Canadian Denis Shapovalov, who despite being lower ranked than Zverev defeated him in straight sets. From that major setback, Zverev made a comeback at the ATP Montpellier 2022 and has comfortably reached the finals of the tournament.

It hasn’t been a good start for the season for Kazakh shoemaker Alexander Bublik. He played the Adelaide International 2 tournament as a tune-up for the Australian Open where he lost his opening round match to Aleksander Vukic. He then made it to the second round of the Aussie Open where he lost to Gael Monfils in straight sets. However, after those setbacks, Bublik has played tremendously in Montpellier, he has already defeated the second-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut in the quarterfinals and would fancy his chances on defeating the first seeded Zverev.
