Marcos Giron has been in superb touch lately. He thrashed fourth-seeded Alex de Minaur in straight sets in his last encounter which would have done a world of good to his confidence. Before that, Giron had to battle hard in his first match at the Metz Open against Arthur Rinderknech.

Arthur was able to stretch him for three sets but Giron eventually emerged victoriously by keeping his cool under pressure in the final moments of the game. On the other hand, Peter Gojowczyk has fought incredibly hard, right from the qualifying stage in order to make his way into the quarter-finals.

After impressive performances in the qualifying stage, Peter continued his great run in the main round as well. Moreover, the way he defeated seventh-seeded Karen Khachanov in his last encounter goes on to prove that he has what it takes at the highest level.
