Victoria Azarenka vs Jessica Pegula : Preview

Victoria Azarenka moves into the 3rd quarter-final of the year as she continues looking for her first title this season. Azarenka on the back of consecutive straight-set victories, moves into the last-8. Azarenka defeated old rival Angelique Kerber 6-3, 7-5 in just under the 1.5 hour mark to progress ahead.
Azarenka had to give a walkover in the 2021 Grampian’s trophy and later lost in the semi-finals of the 2021 Qatar Open denying her another final appearance and shot at her 22nd title of her career.
Jessica Pegula moves into her 5th quarter-final of the season with some more good performances from the American. Pegula saw her opponent retire mid-match in the 1st set and later won her Round of 16 clash in straight-sets to advance into the last-8 for yet another tournament.
Pegula has been unlucky however, winning only 1 quarter-final in her 4 appearances so far. She is yet to win a title this season and will look to continue her form in her match against Azarenka as well.
Victoria Azarenka vs Jessica Pegula : Head to Head

This will be the 2nd match between the duo who first met in the opening round at the 2021 Australian Open where Pegula won the match in straight-sets. They were supposed to play each other in the 2nd round of the 2021 Madrid Open as well, but Azarenka had to hand her a walkover due to an injury. Jessica Pegula leads the head-to-head tie 1-0.
Victoria Azarenka vs Jessica Pegula : Prediction

Victoria will come into the match with a career record of 52-22 on Grass and a 11-3 record for a season with frequent injuries for the former World No. 1.
Jessica comes in with a 13-12 record on Grass across her career and on the back of some great results on Hardcourts, she has achieved a season record of 25-10 and will be the favourite for this tie given her better fitness and form in the season.
