Paula Badosa vs Danka Kovinic : Preview

The twenty three year old from Spain, Paula Badosa, has played some enterprising tennis on clay this year, and has the results to show for it. First up was the Charleston Open, a tournament where she reached the Semi-Finals. Up next was the Madrid Open, and Badosa reached the Semifinals of that tournament as well.
Her big prize came at the Serbia Open, where she defeated Ana Konjuh to win her first title on the tour. Here at the French Open Badosa has beaten American Lauren Davis 6-2, 7-6 in the first round. After winning the first set easily, Badosa faced some issues with her serve in the second. Eventually wrapping up the match in straight sets. Her opponent in the second round is Danka Kovinic.
Kovinic started the clay court season well. She reached the Finals of the Charleston Open where she was beaten by Veronika Kudermetova. Immediately after that she reached the Semi-finals of the Charleston Open 2, losing to Ons Jabeur at that stage. She didn’t have much to show for at Madrid or Serbia Open. In the first round of the French Open, she was pushed by wildcard Clara Burel. Eventually winning, 6-3 7-6.
Paula Badosa vs Danka Kovinic : Head to Head

These two players have met just once on the tour before, and the head to head is 0-0 at the moment.
Paula Badosa vs Danka Kovinic : Prediction

Badosa has a 14-2 win-loss record on clay this year. The Spaniard has been in great form and will look to cash in on that. Kovinic has struggled with her serve big time, even in her first match she served up seven double faults. Kovinic will have to serve well and show better shot selection if she is to challenge Badosa. Badosa should win this.
Prediction: Paula Badosa will beat Danka Kovinic in straight sets.
