Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut hasn’t been in his best form off late. He was knocked out of the second round of French Open and reached the Round of 16 at Wimbledon where he lost to Denis Shapovalov in straight sets. He then lost back-to-back opening round matches at the Swiss Open and Austrian Open.

He then managed to reach the quarterfinal of the Toronto Masters where beat the likes of Diego Schwartzman before losing to eventual finalist Reilly Opelka in straight sets. He then lost his opening match at Cincinnati against Grigor Dimitrov.

As for his opponent, Nick Kyrgios, he hasn’t been in form too. He came back on tour at Wimbledon where he reached the third round but handed is opponent, Felix Auger Aliassime a walkover. He then competed at the North American swing and reached the second round at Atlanta. He was then handed first round loses at Washington and Toronto to Mackenzie McDonald and Reilly Opelka respectively.
