Matteo Berrettini vs Daniel Evans : Preview
Matteo Berrettini reaches his 2nd successive quarter-final at the Queen’s Club as he also made it till the semi-finals in the 2019 Queen’s Club Championship. The Italian advances into the last-8 after defeating former World No. 1 Andy Murray 6-3, 6-3 who entered the tournament through a wildcard.
Berrettini continues his fine form and proves his seeding at the tournament as he defeated the local boy and crowd favourite just below the 1.5 hour mark. Berrettini will now be sighting the trophy with one eye which will be his 2nd career title on Grass, after he won the 2019 Stuttgart Open in a fantastic Grass season for the Italian.
Daniel Evans finally makes it into the quarter-finals of the Queen’s Club after 9 failed attempts. He becomes the third British to qualify for the last-8 this season at the Queen’s Club with the other two being, Cameron Norrie and Jack Draper who will be facing each other for a place in the semi-finals.
Evans defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-4, 7-6(7) in the Round of 16 to move into the quarter-finals having not dropped a single set so far. Evans was the winner in his season opener tournament at the 2021 Murray River Open and will be looking for his 2nd title of the season at the Queen’s Club in front of his home crowd.
