“Biggest things I’ve ever had the honour of doing,” Gamer Naomi Osaka features in Fortnite’s new update

Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka is super excited about being a part of Fortnite. Two of her most loved activities united in one, Tennis and Gaming, as Fortnite releases a new update, two signature Fortnite skins inspired and named after Naomi.
The four-time grand slam champion has competed only in two tournaments this year. She made it to the semifinals but gave a walkover to her opponent Veronika Kudermetova. In the Australian Open, Naomi lost to Amanda Anisimova in the third round ( 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 ).

The 24-year-old Japanese player took to Instagram to share her happiness regarding her new character. She shared multiple stories. “I just wanna say thank you to everyone for all the love and support for this.”
She further went on to write, “Everyone that knows me knows that I play video games with my sis + friends for hours whenever I have free time, so to have a skin in Fortnite and to have my sister design it…. easily one of the biggest things I’ve ever had the honour of doing, wow what a dream.”
Fortnite is a popular multiplayer video game that has become a rage among youngers since 2018. It’s a fast-paced action and strategy game. It is a survival game where you play to emerge as the sole winner out of 100 players. Naomi will be part of the game’s upcoming season that debuts in March.
Her character has two forms. The first one is made by combining her newest Nike colour with that of an anime character popularly referred to as Sailor Moon – Magical girl. The other one contrasts the bright colours has more of a traditional priestess look. Her weapon is a racquet and a ball. Serves and hits are part of her moves. The designer of this is none other than her own sister Mari Osaka.
She also tags Fortnite in Insta, “1-of-1, and not even close to done! Thank you @Fortnite for letting me tell my story in my own words.” Today, she even posted a story on her playing the game in her character and winning the ‘#1 Victory Royale’. She said, “1st in my character skin. High Key did nothing except hit people with my racquet, lol.”
