“Call them an Idiot!” Daniil Medvedev gets ‘BOOOED’ for his sarcastic applause towards the crowd

Daniil Medvedev is one of the most entertaining yet controversial figures in tennis. He is definitely one of the two best players in the world but isn’t the most loved one by the fans. He time and again has the tendency to get involved with the crowd when they go against him. He often loses his mind and starts mocking them which even he admits, isn’t good for his game.
He has been on the receiving end of the crowd many times and instead of keeping his calm, he tends to give back to them during the matches. Even at the US Open Final, the crowd, for a change was Pro-Djokovic which Medvedev didn’t like. He was seen screaming at fans to which, once again he was booed. Not going a long back, he got involved with the fans last week too. In the second-round match against Nick Kyrgios, he was very amused by the Pro-Kyrgios crowd and even called some of the fans ‘Stupid’.
Medvedev Boooed once again
In the Final against Rafael Nadal, Medvedev once again lost his cool in the third set. Medvedev was cruising away with the match and had a 2 sets lead. But on serve in the third set, he tried a fancy volley but missed it badly. The crowd, who wanted to see some exciting action, cheered as Nadal was close to getting a decisive break. Medvedev didn’t like that because he thought that they were cheering on him for making a mistake.
Medvedev gave the crowd sarcastic applause – indirectly mocking them for Sportsmanship to which he was booed. Medvedev eventually lost the set 4-6. After the set, Medvedev wanted the umpire to announce that whoever shouts between the first and second serve “is an idiot.”
