Nick Kyrgios

Australian showman is without a doubt, the most entertaining tennis player on the tour currently but at times, he is accused of overexpressing his emotions which don’t go in tandem with the match situation. A similar incident occurred in his Round of 16 match against Jannik Sinner at the Miami Open.

Kyrgios, who was on the back foot in the opening set, managed to take the set into the tiebreaker but due to constant murmuring, he was handed a point penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. A furious Kyrgios went straight to the umpire after losing the set and yelled at him violently for giving him a penalty. The Australian was fuming with anger and also smashed his racket in the process.

As a result, Umpire Carlos Bernardes have Kyrgios a game penalty which meant that he would start the second set with a break, down. He eventually lost the match in straight sets 7-6(3),6-3 and despite having an impressive tournament, his journey came to an end in the fourth round at Miami.
