Recently Chris took on Twitter to share a shocking news with her fans. She has been diagnosed with stage 1 ovarian cancer.
She said in the tweet that she is lucky to have diagnosed it early so it would be cured. But when she got the news she was extremely shocked and depressed as this was the reason of her younger sister Jeanne’s death. Evert says that everytime she gets a chemo she thinks of her sister. “When I go into chemo, she is my inspiration,” Chrissie says. “I’ll be thinking of her. And she’ll get me through it.”
“I wanted to share my stage 1 ovarian cancer diagnosis and the story behind it as a way to help others. I feel very lucky that they caught it early and expect positive results from my chemo plan. Thanks to Chris McKendry for her friendship and for co-writing this very personal story with me. And thanks to all of you for respecting my need to focus on my health and treatment plan. You will see me appear from home at times during ESPN’s coverage of the Aussie Open,” Chris wrote in the tweet.
Chris is battling with the cancer and doctors say ishe would reach 3 or 4 stage in 3 months and if nothing is done, it would reach the abdomen. In her early stage she does not have any significant symptoms which also happens for most of the women.
