Emma Raducanu has made a name for herself in the world of tennis. The youngster from Britain took the world by surprise when she ended up winning the US Open in an emphatic style. As a result, she became the face of many globally renowned brands in no time.
Raducanu had a dream season in 2021 as she ended the year with a place in the Top 20 WTA Rankings. Raducanu entered the US Open as a World No. 150 and after battling through the qualifiers, she won the championship without dropping a single set. However, the star player didn’t really perform as per expectations in the following tournaments.
Young fan yells “Emma will you marry me” on Raducanu’s return to home turf
A few days back, the British tennis star was enjoying a breezy vacation and is now back on the court. Recently, she faced Romanian tennis star Elena-Gabriela Ruse in an exhibition match. The game turned out to be a special one as it was her first game on home soil since July.
Ruse, who is ranked 85th in the world exchanged a few rallies and jokes with the Wimbledon champion on the Royal Albert Hall. The crowd applauded Raducanu and her rival as the game ended 6-3 7-6 in Raducanu’s favor. The way Raducanu played, it would be fair to say that she is getting in really good shape for the upcoming season.
Moreover, one particular moment in the game caught everybody’s attention when one young fan yelled “Emma will you marry me” during the third game. Raducanu is looking fit and it won’t be a surprise if the Brit ends up winning games after games in the next season.
