The Argentine has defeated two clay court specialists Pablo Andujar and Fabio Fognini to make the fourth round of the 2021 French Open. With 26 wins on the clay this season, the southpaw comes into Roland Garros with a realistic chance of making the second week in Paris. He made the quarterfinals of quarterfinals of Rome and semifinals of Belgrade. Delbonis has already beaten accomplished clay court players in Bautista Agut, David Goffin and Pablo Carreno Busta. Delbonis is playing his maiden fourth round at the French Open.

Alejandro Fokina won a second five-setter in a row to move into the fourth round of the 2021 French Open. He beat Casper Ruud in what was one of the best matches of the tournament. Fokina saved four break points in the final game, before converting his fifth opportunity for a stunning victory. The 22-year-old made the quarterfinals of Monte Carlo Masters before going down to Stefanos Tsitsipas. Later, he also reached the semifinals of Estoril. For the year, he has won 15 matches out of 21 outings. The Spaniard will be eyeing his first ever quarterfinal appearance in Paris.
