Matteo Berrettini defeated Taro Daniel in four sets in the first round. In the second round, he defeated Federico Coria in a straight sets victory. It was another comfortable victory for the Italian in the third round, as he defeated S.Kwon in straight sets. The 25-year old received a bye in the fourth round, after Roger Federer decided to withdraw from the tournament. Berrettini has been in amazing form this clay court tournament, as he lifted the Serbia Open title, and finished as the runner up in Madrid.
