The World No.1 and top seed Novak Djokovic has played like a true champion in French Open 2021 thus far. Till now, he hasn’t lost a single set in the tournament. Winning 83% of his first-serve points, Djokovic is of the main contenders to lift the coveted trophy once again. The Serbian tennis star will next take on Lorenzo Musetti in the fourth round of the tournament on Monday.
Djokovic has thrashed his opponents mercilessly throughout this season. He last defeated Ričardas Berankis in straight sets by 6-1, 6-4, 6-1 in the third round of the tournament. Although Djokovic has won just one title at Roland Garros, there is no denying the fact that he has performed consistently in the tournament for many years. There is no doubt about the fact that Djokovic is going to be an extremely tough opponent to get past, but Lorenzo Musetti can’t be ruled out of the contest. He has moved up to career best ATP ranking (76) and has moved around nicely on the clay court.
Musetti defeated David Goffin and Yoshihito Nishioka in the first and second round clash in straight sets. However, he was survived a close shave against fellow countryman Marco Cecchinato in the third round. The game went on for 5 sets and in the end, Musetti held his nerve to emerge victorious by 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The Italian would have to pull all the tricks out of the bag in order to defeat the World No. 1 Djokovic.
19-year-old Musetti has been impressive so far, this is the first time he is a part of the main draw of a Grand Slam. However, he will find it difficult to go past Djokovic’s rock solid defense. The Serbian national has also served well this season and is looking completely fit which eventually is not a heartening sign for young Musetti.

Djokovic has been in supreme touch and Musetti has had a dream run in the French Open 2021 thus far. However, Musetti’s dream run might in the fourth round. Nevertheless, he is expected to stretch Djokovic to four sets but eventually, it is the World No.1 who is expected to move into the quarter-finals without much hassle.
