The southpaw has been stretched into the fourth set just once in the tournament. In the quarter-final clash, Nadal ended Diego Schwartzman’s dream run. After dropping the second set, Nadal came back strongly and won the contest by 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0. The Spaniard would be looking to get one step closer to the French Open title for the 14th time in his career by going past World No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

Nadal has been in scintillating form in the French Open 2021. He even broke Jimmy Connors’ record of most career bagels served at a single tournament in his last game against Diego Schwartzman. Needless to say, Nadal is a force to reckon with on the clay court.
On the other hand, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has been in tremendous touch as well. He went past Tennys Sandgren, Pablo Cuevas, and Ričardas Berankis in straight sets in his first three matches. However, the World No. 1 player was stretched to the fifth set in the fourth-round clash by Lorenzo Musetti.
Moreover, Djokovic was troubled a little bit by Matteo Berrettini in the quarter-final clash. The contest went into the fourth set and the Serbian national ended up winning by 6-3, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5. However, despite being No.1 in the world, Djokovic is not being counted as the favorite in the clash against Nadal, simply because of Nadal’s domination on the clay court.
