The world cried when Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, who was also known for his everlasting smile and philanthropic work left the world on 26th January 2020. However, the legacy he left behind keeps inspiring millions around the world.
Bryant’s demise, caused by a helicopter crash shook the entire sporting, as well as the non-sporting world as he was an imposing figure who has now become a symbol of strength and greatness. Kobe was born on 23rd August 1978 and on his 43rd birth anniversary, innumerable sports stars poured in wishes for the great man.
‘Miss you brother’: Djokovic wishes Kobe a very happy birthday
World No. 1 tennis star Novak Djokovic took to Twitter to wish Kobe a happy birthday. Expressing his affection towards the star who left us too early, Novak wrote, “Happy birthday, Kobe. Miss you brother.” Novak ended the caption by writing, ‘Mamba Forever,’ a tag that has become synonymous with the legendary basketball player.
Kobe was and will always be a legend who knew how to stay humble even when he was at the top of the world. Djokovic, who called him a brother in the recent post would be looking to replicate the characteristics of Kobe in his own sport where he has achieved a lot, but still has a long way to go.
Novak Djokovic, who looked unbeatable this season was stunned during the Tokyo Olympics where he wasn’t able to win a medal, neither in singles nor in the doubles category. Surviving through all the backlash he faced from fans and experts, the Serbian tennis star will be hoping to regain form before he steps into the upcoming US Open.
