Wimbledon 2021 is all set to be held this year, from June 28- July 11. The prestigious Grandslam was cancelled last season, owing to the covid-19 pandemic. Novak Djokovic is the defending champion in Men’s Singles, having lifted the title in 2019, after defeating Roger Federer in a five-set thriller, that went all the way down to the wire.
The entry list for the Wimbledon 2021 is out, and it features several high-profile names. This will be the second tournament after US Open 2019, where the Big Three- Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer unite. The trio will also compete at the French Open in the upcoming weeks.
Novak Djokovic, defending champion enters as the top seed at Wimbledon. The Serbian has won the title on five occasions, with the first one coming in 2011.
Daniil Medvedev seeded second at Wimbledon
Daniil Medvedev will enter the third Grandslam of the season, as the second seed. The Russian will surpass Rafael Nadal as the world number two, after he lost the ranking for a short period of time. Rafael Nadal, two time Wimbledon champion is the third seed, whereas, Dominic Thiem is seeded fourth as of now.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev will also be a part of the Grandslam. Roger Federer holds the record for most Wimbledon titles won. The Swiss has won the tournament on eight occasions, with the last one coming in 2017. The 39-year old will aim to go a step further from 2019, where he lost the finals against Novak Djokovic.
There are several Italians in the entry list for Wimbledon. The likes of Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Sonego and Lorenzo Musetti are scheduled to play in Britain. Meanwhile, the experienced duo of Matteo Berrettinni and Fabio Fognini will also compete at Wimbledon.
