Roger Federer’s return post his double knee surgery hasn’t been a fairytale in particular. He lost in early rounds at Doha and Geneva before pulling out of the French Open after his third round match. He lost in the second round at Halle too and has struggled to find momentum.

In the first round at Wimbledon, he survived a potential shock from Adrian Mannarino as the Frenchman retired after the fourth set due to a knee injury he developed in the match.

Roger Federer will go in as the overwhelming favorite on paper to win the match given his record at Wimbledon. But his recent form will be a matter of concern to himself and all his fans around the world. Having said that, he has an incredible record against Gasquet and would fancy an easy encounter given he plays without errors. Expect the Frenchman to trouble Federer at some point in the match.

Prediction: Federer to win in four sets.
