Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils welcomed their daughter Skai last year, and so far, the journey has been quite interesting for the new family. Both parents seem to be enjoying some quality time off-court with their baby girl, giving her the much-needed time and attention. 

On the other hand, parenthood comes for both Svitolina and Monfils while they are juggling their lives as pro tennis players on the tour, trying their best to gather a lifetime of accolades. Svitolina returned on tour just six months after giving birth, and she has been bringing her best on the court so far. The couple initially went public with their relationship in 2019 after they were spotted in each other’s boxes at different matches, cheering and hyping each other up. From there, they seem to have come a long way.

However, back in 2021, they announced their split after 2 years in a shocking joint statement but soon got married on July 16th, 2022, much to the delight of their fans. Elina gave birth to Skai in October 2022. The pair has not revealed the face of their baby and has kept her away from the media thus far. Nonetheless, they gave their fans a sneak peek into their private moments with adorable family pictures where although Skai’s face is not visible, the happiness on Svitolina and Monfils’ face is infectious.

For fans who were wondering why Monfils was missing at this year’s Wimbledon, as he had been there for all her matches, supporting her from the box, it was revealed that while the ‘supermom’ was on the court, the daughter was being babysat by her ‘tired’ dad back home. Svitolina said, “He wants me to come back because he’s really tired (smiling),” at the press conference.

There’s not much information on Skai, as Monfils and Svitolina seem to be wanting privacy at this time. Skai was born on October 16, 2022, and soon after, taking to his official Twitter handle, Monfils announced the birth of his baby girl, praising his wife for being so strong and brave. “I spent the most incredible night of my life, which ended with the most beautiful gift around 6 a.m. Elina was strong and brave. I cannot thank my wife and God enough for this incredible moment,” wrote Monfils.  

Elina is currently playing at Wimbledon and has made it into the semi-finals after defeating World No. 1 Iga Swiatek.
