Coco Gauff vs Kaja Juvan : Preview
Coco Gauff returned on the Centre Court for the very first time since her breakthrough moment at the 2019 Wimbledon where her rising popularity forced the officials to shift the then 15-year old’s matches on the Centre Court. Gauff was up against Elena Vesnina in the 2nd round and won the match 6-4, 6-3 in 1 hour and 11 minutes to move into the 3rd round.
Gauff registered her 2nd straight-set win at this year’s Grand Slam as she continues her hunt for Grand Slam title. With her playstyle suited for Grass and a good run at the 2019 Wimbledon, greater things can be expected from the 17-year old who is quickly rising in ranks.
Kaja Juvan is set to make her first Centre Court appearance at the All-England Club when she takes on Gauff in the 3rd round. Kaja who has been kind of a surprise package this year, advances into the 3rd round on the back of straight-set victories in both of her previous rounds.
The 20-year Slovenian defeated Belinda Bencic in first round and later defeated Clara Burel 6-3, 6-4 in 1 hour and 9 minutes to move into the 3rd round for the very first time after reaching the 2nd round at the 2019 Wimbledon to be defeated by eventual runner-up Serena Williams. Kaja had entered the main-draw from the qualifying stages in 2019 but entered the main-draw directly this year.
