The Chilean has played 17 out of his 19 matches on the clay this season and has been enjoying his time on the clay. The 24-year-old appears to be home on the dirt and has also got good wins under his belt this season. After winning the title in Santiago, Garin also made semis of Madrid and Estoril. Moreover, he has also beaten big names Danill Medvedev, Felix Auger and Fernando Verdasco on the clay in 2021. With 11 wins in 17 matches on his preferred surface, he should make another deep run at Geneva this week. A real dark horse.

On the other hand, the Hungarian has visibly struggled on the clay this season. Although he had his moments on the hard courts, his ability has not been able to make an impact during the European, clay court swing. After first round exits in Monte Carlo and Madrid, Fucsovics could only manage to enter the second round in Rome last week, but was ousted by Dominic Thiem.
