Rafael Nadal is one of the biggest legends in the world of tennis. He has the highest number of grand slams amongst the men, the staggering number is 21. His most recent win in the Australian Open is nothing less than a fairytale. He has the highest number of any single Grand Slam (13 French Open titles).
Tennis is an extremely difficult sport, given the technicalities and training. But more than that it takes all the willpower and enthusiasm of the player. It cannot come from any outside source. Rafa Nadal has himself said so, “Tennis is a hard sport. There is a lot of competition all year and you play alone.“
Rafael Nadal had started the Rafael Nadal academy to help aspiring and talented players realize their potential. The academy is spearheaded by Rafa’s uncle and coach Toni Nadal, the person who nudged Rafa towards tennis. There are both annual and semester programs conducted by the academy to help the players aged from 11 to 18 years of age with the aim of maximizing their potential.
The academy believes that the prestige of the annual (or semester) plan matches that of Rafael Nadal, thanks to state-of-the-art facilities, precise methodology, the caliber of the teaching team, and academic achievement. The academy has 19 hard courts, seven clay courts, and an indoor court as well. The academy is equipped with a sports cafe for healthy eating and gym and training facilities. There’s also the Rafael Nadal Museum containing all of Nadal’s trophies.

All conditioning methods are used for the participants including physical, mental, and most importantly tennis training of course. The academy also holds regular competitions to check on the improvement areas and performance of participants. Rafael Nadal also comes to the facilities to interact with the players, share valuable experiences, and motivate them toward the sport. It becomes important for the giants to lead the way. Sir Issac Newton used to say, ” If I have seen further, it’s by standing on the shoulders of giants.“
The Nadal Academy is performing the task of sharing their team and coaches and giving the aspiring tennis players a chance to train just as the legend did and learn from his experiences to use them in the sport as well as in their life.
