Nick Kyrgios and partner Thanasi Kokkinakis claimed their first-ever Grand Slam title on Friday, as the pair defeated compatriots Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden in the finals of the Australian Open 2022. The ‘K&K’ became the first wildcard pair to win the Australian Open Men’s Doubles as they won the match 7-5, 6-4 in 1 hour and 35 minutes in front of the packed Rod Laver Arena that was buzzing throughout due to it being an all-Australian final.
Nick and Thanasi hit 6 aces, 17 winners in a disciplined performance having 1 unforced error and 1 double fault as they won 75 points in the finals. Max and Matthew from the other side of the court had 3 aces, 28 winners, and had 1 double fault and 7 unforced errors during the match as they finished with 62 points.

Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis got the crowd roaring with their crazy on-court celebrations after their high octane win. In a match that was relatively non-eventful except Kyrgios ejecting an unruly fan out of the stadium, the duo gave the local crowd reasons to cheer about.
Post the match, an elated Kyrgios met up with his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi, and the couple shared a warm hug and a kiss on such a happy occasion, with a visibly overjoyed lifting up his girlfriend before giving into a warm hug. Costeen has been ever-present at the Grand Slam, usually seen supporting her boyfriend from the stands. She also shared a cute video of herself kissing Nick after his win on Rod Laver Arena.
The couple, who made their relationship public in January, has visibly been madly in love with each other, looking virtually inseparable. Hatzi runs a business called Casa Amor Interiors, which focuses on minimalist home décor.
Unlike other famous and high-profile players who like to keep their personal and dating life private, Kyrgios showed that their relationship is an open book as the couple was seen sharing a sweet kiss midway through a practice session. Both of them also keep updating about their time spent together on social media.
