On January 30, Rafael Nadal won his 21st grand slam breaking the greatest record in the history of tennis before Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. Many legends appreciated and congratulated him on his win.
However, many tennis fans don’t feel the same way. Comments on social media claim that Nadal’s victory was possible only because Djokovic was not present in Australia, which brought up the fact about how Djokovic’s decision not to get vaccinated came between his career goal of winning his 21st grand slam.

Nada’s former coach, Carlos Moya, also commented on Nadal’s win and Djokovic’s situation. “He is one of the favorite players for every tournament he can play,” Coach Moya continues to praise the Spanish player. “I think it is not the last Grand Slam that I am going to see him win. I am very aware of who Rafa is and what he has done in the history of tennis. It is very difficult for another to win, but it is Rafa Nadal. I will not get tired of say it”.
He next goes on to talk about the situation surrounding Nadal and Djokovic. He said that Nadal’s Australian Open triumph will not force Djokovic to get vaccinated but added that if the Serb doesn’t get vaccinated, he will be in ‘serious trouble’.
“I don’t think that Rafa Nadal’s 21st Grand Slam has forced Djokovic to get vaccinated … If Djokovic doesn’t get vaccinated, he is in serious danger of not playing in almost any Grand Slam again, and he would give up on continuing in that career for which he has worked so hard,” he said.
“I don’t think Djokovic is anti-vaccine, but he has decided the right not to get it. His career is in serious danger if he doesn’t get vaccinated,” Moyá clarified.
