John Isner came back from set down to defeat reigning champion, Cristian Garin 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 and end the Chilean’s 8 match winning streak in Houston. The American has amassed 71 aces so far in the tournament en route to his first tour-level clay final in 9 years, which was coincidentally in Houston as well. Isner had a first-round bye and followed that with three, three-set wins to set up an all-American final against Opelka.
