There is probably no more a divisive person in the world of talent than Nick Kyrgios. Tipped for greatness since his younger days, the Aussie could never reach those heights due to his temperamental nature and lack of focus.

Kyrgios’ on-field antics have been well documented. From breaking rackets to arguing with the match officials, the 26 years old has flattered to deceive many a time throughout his career. For all his talents, his career-high ranking is just 13, which he achieved way back in 2016.

Bryant had shockingly passed away in a tragic helicopter crash on 26 January 2020. With the second anniversary of his death a month away, Kyrgios posted a series of throwback pictures of himself wearing the former Los Angeles Lakers forward’s famous No. 8 jersey.

Incidentally, that is the same jersey that the Aussie superstar wore ahead of his fourth-round Australian Open match against Rafael Nadal last year. The match had taken place just a day after the basketball superstar’s tragic death.

“I f***ing miss Kobe man, don’t take any day for granted… it all can be taken away instantly, this life is beautiful, enjoy it with the ones you love, the ones that make you laugh and smile”– read Kyrgios’ Instagram caption.

To show his immense love and respect for the icon, Kyrgios had got a tattoo of Kobe on his right arm last year in order to commemorate his death.

Kyrgios attributed his growing eventual maturity and calmness to the tattoo, saying that the tattoo constantly reminded him of how Bryant handled himself on the court.
