Serena Williams hasn’t played a match in nearly 8 months and is yet to give an update about her return. But the 23-time Grand Slam champion has been enjoying her time off-court as she keeps herself occupied with her business endeavors. Apart from her illustrious tennis career, Serena has lucrative brand sponsors as well as investment avenues for herself. She launched her own clothing line in 2018. S by Serena and has also arrayed into the NFT world as well.
An entrepreneur herself, Serena always cheers on others when they start their own business. Recently, American actress Kathryn Hahn opened her own business venture ‘Haun Ventures’-a venture capital firm is dedicated to supporting crypto startups. Serena was quick to congratulate her fellow American and shared a post acclaiming Hahn for exploring her own business avenues. Serena is no stranger to the crypto business herself. She is an advisor at Sorare, a billion-dollar valued NFT company.

Serena Williams yet to play a match this year
Serena hasn’t played a match since her first-round match in Wimbledon last year, where she was forced to retire mid-match with a leg injury after she twisted her ankle during the first set. The American hasn’t given any update on her injury and is yet to announce her return to the tour. As a result of this, she plummeted down the rankings and is out of the top-200, she is currently ranked No.240 in the latest WTA rankings.
Serena recently addressed rumors around her retirement, the American didn’t give a specific timeline about her return but said she has plans in place already for her retirement. Williams might be looking to make a comeback to give one last shot on winning another Grand Slam. With 23 Grand Slams to her name, the American sits at second position for winning the most Grand Slams, behind Margaret Court, who won 24. The 40-year-old hasn’t won a Grand Slam in nearly 5 years. Although she reached four finals since winning her 23rd title at the Australian Open in 2017, she couldn’t cross the final hurdle.
