Andy Murray has had a decent start to the 2022 season. He reached the final of the Sydney International event ahead of Oz Open where he lost to top seed Aslan Karatsev. He then made it to the second round of the Australian Open before once again reaching the Round of 16 of the Rotterdam Open. He then once again had back-to-back second-round outings at Qatar and Dubai where he lost to Roberto Bautista Agut and Jannik Sinner respectively.

Taro Daniel too has had a good start to the 2022 season. As a qualifier, he reached the third round of the Australian Open by beating Andy Murray before eventually losing to Jannik Sinner. He then lost to Murray in the first round of the Qatar Open before making it to the Round of 16 at Dubai. He once again made it to the main draw at Indian Wells as a qualifier where he didn’t drop a single set.
