The world No.1 traveled to the Northern Territory as a part of her role as the Tennis Australia First Nations ambassador, taking the trophy with her as she visited sacred sites and played tennis with children in the red dust, with Uluru in the background.

Barty later spoke about her experience, revealing that the visit to Uluru left her overwhelmed. The Aussie stated that the visit helped her understand how deep a spiritual connection Uluru has for some communities.

It’s really hard to put into words, just because it’s a feeling. When you actually go to Uluru for the first time like I did, it was just an incredible experience for me to understand how much of a spiritual connection Uluru has for so many communities,” said Barty.

She also called the experience a special one, labeling the site as the heartbeat of the nation. The 26-year-old also revealed that she had always wanted to visit Uluru, and is happy now that she has done it.
