Ons Jabeur will come beaming with confidence after becoming the 1st Arab women to win a WTA title with her victory in the finals of the WTA Birmingham Classic 2021. Ons dropped just 1 set throughout the tournament in the last week and will now be a hot favourite to claim the title in Eastbourne.
Ons has had a wonderful season so far with good wins the entire season and on different surfaces as well. She has also reached the finals of the MUSC Health Women’s Open in Charleston but had to wait for the glory till the last week in Birmingham where she clinched her first WTA title of her career.
Marketa Vondrousova comes to Eastbourne from the WTA Berlin Open 2021 where she lost to eventual champion Liudmila Samsonova who came from the qualifying rounds to clinch the title defeating 5th seeded Belinda Bencic after having defeated Victoria Azarenka in the semi-finals.
Marketa had to face defeat in her Grass debut of the season and will be looking to turn things around before she travels to Wimbledon for the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
