Angelique Kerber has long been the flagbearer for German women tennis. Kerber has won 13 titles so far in her career since turning Pro in 2003 with a win rate of 65% in her Singles career. She also has a Silver Olympic medal which she won at the /2016 Rio Olympics.

The former World No. 1 was born on 18 January 1988 in Bremen, Germany to Slawomir Kerber and Beata Kerber, with Beata being the manager for her daughter. Kerber also has a sister named Jessica. Although Angelique plays left-handed, she was born right-handed but held the tennis racquet in her left hand and has not let it go since the age of 3.

Kerber has won 3 Grand Slam titles so far, one each of Australian Open, US Open and Wimbledon. Her best result at the French Open has been her quarter-final runs in 2012 and 2018. Kerber won 2016 Australian Open and 2016 US Open that saw her rise to World No. 1. Her latest Grand Slam title came at the 2018 Wimbledon, getting her close to a Career Slam.

Kerber won her 13th title at the 2021 Bad Homburg Open played on Grass in Germany, her first title in over 3 years having struggled with injuries and form since her 2018 Wimbledon triumph. The title helped Kerber at the Wimbledon 2021 as well where she made it till the quarters and could go all the way to her 2nd title at the All-England Club.
