Barbora Krejcikova’s 15-match winning streak came to a stop in the fourth round at Wimbledon against Ash Barty. This year at the French Open, Krejcikova won her maiden grand slam singles championship, defeating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in a three-set thriller. In the same tournament, she and Kateina Siniakova won the doubles championship, defeating Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Iga Swaitek in an easy two-set victory.

The Bulgarian, on the other hand, hasn’t played much tennis this year. Her greatest Grand Slam performances are the second round of the 2019 Wimbledon Championships, the third round of qualifying at the 2019 US Open, and the second round of the 2020 Australian Open. She is currently ranked world number 220.

Given Krejcikova’s excellent success this season, including her triumph at the French Open, we believe she will comfortably defeat Shinikova in straight sets. Shinikova is inexperienced, and Krejcikova will try to use this to her advantage.

Prediction: Krejcikova to win in straight sets.
