Defending champion Daniil Medvedev is the player to beat in the red group. He has been one of the best player on the ATP tour and is the only player except Novak Djokovic to win a major this season. He started the year with a runner-up finish at the Australian Open and had decent outing at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. He then won the Toronto Masters before winning his maiden major at Flushing Meadows. A week ago, he finished runner-up at the Paris Masters.

Alexander Zverev is the second best ranked player in the group and is one of the title contender this week on the fast courts of Turin. He has probably been the most consistent player this season after Novak Djokovic. He made it to the semifinals of Australian Open, Roland Garros and US Open and also won the Olympic gold at Tokyo. Apart from these, he won two masters titles- Madrid and Cincinnati.
