Alexander Zverev

Alexander Zverev’s sub-par start to the season continued with an early exit at the Indian Wells. The German ended last season on a high with a triumph at the year-ending ATP Finals. But since then, World No.4 has been on a barren run. He was in contention for the World No.1 ranking at the Australian Open, but that ended with an upset to Denis Shapovalov in the fourth round. This was then followed by a runner-up finish at the Montpellier Open, the lone bright spot in his season so far. He’s coming into the match after a comprehensive victory over Mackenzie McDonald in the previous round.

Throughout his career, Kokkinakis has suffered injuries. The Australian, however, has had an incredible start to the season, reaching the semi-finals of the first warm-up tournament before the Australian Open. He put in an even stronger performance at the second tournament in Adelaide, where he made it to the finals after defeating major players like John Isner and Marin Cilic. In the finals, he defeated Arthur Renderknech, who was a rollercoaster ride to win his maiden career title on home soil. He’ll come into the match after a win over Denis Kudla.

Alexander Zverev vs Thanasi Kokkinakis: Match Prediction

This meeting should last at least up to two long sets. The athletes serve superbly, and there is every reason to believe that we will witness extra-games or a tie-break. While Zverev is the better player on current rankings, Kokkinakis would be the one with more confidence coming into the match.

Match Prediction- Zverev to win in three sets.
