Naomi Osaka has been unable to maintain the level of success she achieved with her performances from 2018 to 2021. The Japanese was expected to make a comeback at the Indian Wells 2022 after withdrawing from the French Open in 2021 and facing an early-round exit in the Australian Open 2022. However, she failed to do so in her most recent loss at the tournament where her run was cut short by Veronika Kudermetova.
