In just 4 appearances at the Miami Masters so far, Nick Kyrgios started well at the tournament reaching the semi-finals in his first two appearances in 2016 and 2017 losing to Kei Nishikori and Roger Federer respectively. He then reached the 4th round in 2018 and 2019 losing to Alexander Zverev and Borna Coric respectively. Fresh off his first Grand Slam doubles title at the Australian Open, he’s coming into the match after his comprehensive victory over Fabio Fognini in the previous round.

World No. 10 Jannik Sinner had a fantastic run last year, having won four ATP titles last year, the Antwerp, Sofia, Washington, and the Melbourne 1. Though the Italian hadn’t won any this year, he reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas. He also made it up to the quarterfinals in the Dubai Tennis Championship but lost to Hubert Hurkacz. He’s coming into the match after a three-set victory over Pablo Carreno Busta in the 3rd round.

Based on their form in Miami so far, Kyrgios will be the favourite heading into this encounter. While Sinner has shown remarkable fortitude in crunch moments, the Aussie has played at a much higher level.

Both players serve well, though the Australian wins hands down in that department. The Italian, however, has a better backhand and all-around game.

Match Prediction- Kyrgios to win in three sets.
