Mike Tyson is undoubtedly one of the greatest boxers to have entered the ring. His achievements speak for themselves on why he was called ‘Kid Dynamite’, ‘Iron Mike’ and in the latter half of his career as the ‘Baddest man on the planet’. Tyson is known as one of the most brutal fighters having won 44 of his 50 wins through knockout and many of them being in the first round itself.

While Tyson’s athleticism and success in boxing is a legend in its own, not many are aware of his love for the sport of tennis. Mike is often spotted at the Masters event in Indian Wells and also at the US Open. The former heavyweight champion had gone on record saying tennis “changed his life”.

Tyson has publicly spoken about his admiration for the 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams. The two Americans also met in a private boxing lesson for the tennis star with Mike holding the punching bag for Serena and teaching her how to work on the bag.

Tyson later uploaded the video on his official Twitter handle and captioned it “Wouldn’t want to get in the ring with this GOAT
@serenawilliams.”
The video showed Mike teaching Serena some combinations before going behind and holding the bag while Serena went on to throw some punches.

After his session with Serena, Mike had also done the same gesture for then 15-year old Coco Gauff who had just taken the tennis fraternity by storm after her heroics at the 2019 Wimbledon where she made the 4th round and also defeated former champion and World No. 1 Venus Williams in the first round. Mike went on to call her the future GOAT as well.

Mike’s interest in the sport has increased more in recent times ever since his 12-year old daughter Milan has taken the liking and is aiming to become a professional player in the future. “She is disciplined in her own. She gets up, cooks her meals, takes a shower and goes to the gym every day at 7 or 8 am,” said Tyson as reported by tennis.com.

“She stays there until 4 pm. She is very diligent and she wants to do this. I’m very proud to have someone in my family who understands that sometimes things don’t go your way,” added the 55-year old. At the 2018 Indian Wells, Djokovic played with Milan on the other side of the net as Tyson watched from the side.
