On Saturday, 20-time grand slam champion and world no. 1 Novak Djokovic created history by reaching yet another Masters 1000 final at Bercy, Paris. And by accomplishing this feat, he ensured a record 7th-year finish as the world no. 1. Earlier, with 6 year-end world no. 1 finishes, he was tied with American legend Pete Sampras. But the Serb seems to be on a one-man mission to break all records.

The finals at Rolex Paris Masters 2021 will be Novak’s 54th Masters 1000 final. He has won the tournaments 36 times, a record that although he shares currently with Rafael Nadal, but could soon overtake. He has stood runners-up on 17 occasions. He is the only person to achieve a Career Golden Master. In fact, he has won each Masters 1000 tournament at least twice.

Paris Masters is the last Masters 1000 event on the ATP calendar, because of which, top athletes take part in it to boost their chances at achieving the year-end no.1 spot and qualifying for the ATP Finals. Novak Djokovic has effortlessly managed both. It is also the 34-year-old’s first on-court appearance since his devastating defeat in the US Open finals.
