3-time grand slam champion Andy Murray staged a perfect comeback on the centre court at Wimbledon after 4 long years. The Brit notched up a good first round win against 24th seed Nikoloz Basilashvili in 4 sets 6-4,6-3,5-7,6-3. He played amazing tennis in front of his home fans but couldn’t handle his nerves in the third set. Despite being 5-0 up, he lost the set 5-7 but then bounced back to win the fourth set.
As for his opponent, Oscar Otte, he had shown his big-match temperament at the French Open last month. The German took the first two sets of sixth seed, Alexander Zverev in the opening round before losing the match. Here in Wimbledon, he won all three of his qualifying matches without dropping a set and then beat fellow qualifier Arthur Rinderknech in the first round. He won the match in an epic 5-set marathon 4-6,6-3,6-2,6-7(5),13-12(2).
