Naomi Osaka
Naomi Osaka is a name to reckon with in the world of tennis. The superstar from Japan took the world by storm by thrashing the biggest stars of the game in marquee tournaments. The four-time Grand Slam champion was touted as the next big thing in tennis.
Although her fans still back her to regain her form and rule the world of tennis once again, things seem to be only going south for the talented youngster. Osaka, who had a brilliant start to the 2021 season by winning the Australian Open has had back-to-back failures in major tournaments since then.
After a streak of 140 consecutive weeks, Osaka drops out of top 10 WTA rankings

The world was shocked when Osaka decided to withdraw mid-way from the French Open. While many criticized her for her actions, a lot of people also came out in her support praising the athlete for bringing attention to the very important issue of mental health.
However, even after that, when she made her comeback on the court at Cincinnati, she was unable to perform as per expectations. As a result, Osaka has now dropped out of the top 10 WTA rankings. The Japanese dropped from 7 to 12th position, ending her streak of 140 consecutive weeks in the Top 10, a streak that started on September 17, 2018.
Moreover, Osaka has taken an indefinite break from the game of tennis which indicates that she might drop further in the rankings in the near future. While Osaka has been in demand with the brands and has been spotted at events like Met Gala, there are no signs that can lead us to predict as to when the champion player might return on the court.
