Naomi Osaka becomes the latest athlete to create NFT by having her autograph as the digital asset which can be bought by her fans. NFT stands for Non-fungible token and becomes a personal digital property that remains unique to the buyer and is not interchangeable. NFT’s can be used to represent items such as photos, videos, audio, and other types of digital files.

Naomi shared this news via her social media handles informing her fans how can they book the NFT which will have her digital autograph. The NFT’s have been in trend recently and many athletes are making their respective NFT properties for their respective fans.

Naomi who is the current World No. 3 on the WTA Tour is the defending champion at the 2021 US Open having won the 2020 US Open, her 3rd Grand Slam title and 2nd in New York. Naomi did not play any competitive match since her controversial exit from the 2021 French Open.

She returned to professional tennis at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but could not make much impact there losing out in the Round of 16. She returned on the WTA Tour at the 2021 Cincinnati Open but lost in the Round of 16 once again. With the 2021 US Open just a week away, Naomi chose not to participate in any further event and will travel to New York directly for the final Grand Slam of the season.

Naomi is a 4-time Grand Slam champion having won the 2021 Australian Open as well. With the strange withdrawal from the French Open and then sitting out of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships in her small hiatus from the tour to protect her mental health, Naomi will look to finish the final Grand Slam of the season on a good note and take the confidence ahead in the season.

The 2021 US Open will begin from 30th August 2021 with the Women’s Singles finals scheduled on 11th September at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
